As much as people want to decorate their houses according to the latest or famous decorations, they would still end up decorating their homes reflecting their very own personality. Some who are of the collector’s nature may have turned their houses into a miniature museum of China, sculptures, paintings and more. But of course, there is a way of imprinting a house that would not require that much efforts, space, and money – and that is through a wall mural.
A wall mural is basically an artistic visual exhibit of one’s interest in a wall. In this way, the wall serves as the large canvass. The art design to be put on the wall can be painted personally or done by a hired artist. An owner has the absolute freedom on deciding what will be the final image that the wall mural will have and with this privilege, he has the chance to select what impression he wants to give the house and leaves to the visitors. The goal is to have a unique mural that cannot be seen from anywhere else but only in that house.

Wall murals are also not just restricted to printed murals but rather it can vary from hand paintings to wood paneling, depending on the preferred creativity of the owner. And so wall murals can be good features in a new house or an addition in a house renovation.
Organizing with Shoe Racks
It is logical to think that as a family grows, so should their house. However, this is not the only thing that changes in their home. Along with the growth of their family and their house, the growth of the chaos their house would experience would, in its turn, inevitably increase. One part of the house that would feel the chaos would be the front door, where people would leave their shoes (it has to be noted that children are not so tidy when it comes to this).
When the chaos is no longer bearable, the head of the household should resolve to try to impose order by improving the house by placing a shoe rack by the door and teaching the children how to place their foot wear properly in the rack. The difficulty in imposing this change is the part where one should teach the children how to properly use the rack. Having a shoe rack will also be able to control the accumulation and spreading of dirt and dust inside house.
This is just a simple tip in further improving a house full of children. However, if followed properly, this tip will prove most useful for any household.
Cool Curtains for Teens
Curtains serve a lot of purpose is a household besides hanging in front of the windows – like serving as shade from sunlight and/or providing privacy. Some people even put up door curtains on the kitchen for example as part of their household decorations. Expanding on creativity, curtain designs have now evolved from fabric to beads and to basically whatever material that can be sewn and strung together.
The most common materials used for making self-made curtains are wooden or plastic beads or seashells for a beach theme. For the beads, they are sewn together on transparent plastic strings while the seashells are usually matched with strings made from plant fibers. Some people, especially teens, may find these sewing and stringing beads too difficult and very time consuming that they may not pursue it at all.
An alternative to sewing beads and seashells to make a curtain is hanging together colorful ribbon laces. A colorful ribbon curtain can be a nice addition to a teen’s bedroom. A teen can personally select which colors of ribbon laces she wants to have as curtain. It can be a spectrum of cool, warm, or pastel colors. Or it can be a combination of bright and striking ribbon laces just like the door curtain at Jenny’s room in the sitcom Gossip Girl.
